{"id":154,"date":"2018-06-21T16:18:30","date_gmt":"2018-06-21T15:18:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sdn.org.uk\/wordpress\/?p=154"},"modified":"2018-07-01T07:21:06","modified_gmt":"2018-07-01T06:21:06","slug":"ofsted-rate-us-good","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sdn.org.uk\/wordpress\/nursery\/ofsted-rate-us-good\/","title":{"rendered":"Ofsted rate us GOOD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>At the end of last month we were inspected by a nice lady from Ofsted.\u00a0 It is something we&#8217;ve been expecting, but it came as a shock none-the-less, especially as she arrived at 9 o&#8217;clock in the morning, the day after a Bank Holiday weekend!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Anyway, after a day spent seeing how we do things and chatting to staff, children, parents and trustees she left to write up her report.<\/p>\n<p>The overall result was &#8216;Good&#8217; and we received &#8216;Good&#8217; for each of the main constituents.<\/p>\n<p>The summary of key findings was as follows:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Staff promote children&#8217;s development by providing them with enjoyable play and learning opportunities.\u00a0 This supports children to make good progress.\u00a0 Children are enthusiastic learners and explore their environment well.<\/li>\n<li>Dedicated and caring staff welcome children warmly as they arrive at the setting.\u00a0 They value what children have to say and engage them in conversation.\u00a0 For example, at lunch time they all sit together and talk about what children have been doing at home.<\/li>\n<li>Parents are very complimentary about the setting and staff.\u00a0 they appreciate the great care the staff offer their children.\u00a0 Parents believe their children have made good progress, especially in their confidence and communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Children&#8217;s behaviour is good.\u00a0 Staff use effective methods to motivate children to behave well and try hard.\u00a0 They recognise individual achievements and praise them for their efforts.<\/li>\n<li>Children benefit from freshly prepared meals and snacks.\u00a0 They enjoy a variety of healthy, nutritious and balanced foods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are, of course, things we can improve on and some of these were identified during the inspection.\u00a0 Rest assured we will be addressing these areas.\u00a0 Indeed, some are already being addressed.<\/p>\n<p>The full report is available at the Nursery and is on this website (<a href=\"http:\/\/sdn.org.uk\/page7.html\">www.sdn.org.uk<\/a>).\u00a0 So take a look when you get the chance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the end of last month we were inspected by a nice lady from Ofsted.\u00a0 It is something we&#8217;ve been expecting, but it came as a shock none-the-less, especially as she arrived at 9 o&#8217;clock in the morning, the day after a Bank Holiday weekend!
