The grant came from Sevenoaks District Council\u2019s Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), which is a sort of tax collected from companies that are undertaking building projects in the District. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 8.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; color: black;\">A lot of preparation went into our bid for this pot of money. We had to have the support of local Town and District Councillors, prepare a detailed bid showing the social and economic impact that the nursery has on our community and also a detailed financial report for the District Council\u2019s Board. Hugh Kirby and Janet Davies, two of the Nursery\u2019s trustees, presented to the Board, along with Councillor Merilyn Canet, a great supporter of the Nursery.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 8.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14.0pt; color: black;\">Many other projects were rejected along the way, and a number that reached the Board\u2019s deliberations only received a percentage of the money they\u2019d requested.
