In 1986 two local doctors joined forces to found The Sevenoaks Day Nursery. It was set up as a charity to offer the local community affordable day care and a good nursery education.
Our aim is to provide a happy and caring environment that is an extension of home.
We believe that all children should have the space and opportunity to flourish and learn through play. There is plenty of opportunity, time and scope for fun, friendship and learning.
We aim to provide a kind and safe environment in which parents may leave their children, knowing that they will be loved and cared for in their absence.
Jean Sowten, who until recently was our Nursery Manager, joined us back in 1989 when we began offering full-time, full-year childcare. She is now part of (and largely responsible for) a flourishing nursery community that strives to maintain the ethos established by two very caring, local doctors over thirty years ago.

The Trustees would like to say a massive “thank you” to all the staff at SDN. We are so very impressed with all the hard work and effort you have all gone to in keeping the nursery open and running safely this past year. There is no way that we would still be operating without you. Keep up the great work and know that you are very much appreciated, not only by us but by all the parents, children and friends at the nursery.
