I have now reached Day 3 of my Coast to Coast walk and am currently crossing the Lake District, not too footsore so far…
I’m delighted to say that I have so far been sponsored some £2500 for the new nursery – almost entirely from contacts outside the nursery, as I’ve taken the view that parents have enough demands made on them for contributions each year. James, my son, has also recently been sponsored £2700 or so on the same basis for his recent London Marathon.
Instead, with their parents permission, I’m going to be sending back to the nursery some photos of the children’s finger puppets – mostly for fun – along my journey and we’re hoping to display some of these while I am away.
At the same time, on the same principle of tapping wider networks of contacts outside those of us directly involved in the nursery, if you think you have neighbours, friends or colleagues who might be willing to sponsor the children’s nursery then that could extend our scope for raising funds from my walk that could get us closer to our target!

Of course, you’ll find out how we all get on, the finger puppets and me, at the Nativity!
