New Management Team Announced

The following is a letter from Sue Dreksler, Chairman of Trustees, Sevenoaks Day Nursery:-

Dear All,

Re: New manager

I am writing on behalf of the Trustees and Management Committee of the Nursery.

As you know, we have been recruiting for a new nursery manager since Jean stepped down from the role earlier in the year. There was a bit of an hiatus in the process thanks to coronavirus, but I am pleased to say that we have now been able to complete the process.

At the same time, we have also been able to address the vacant position of deputy manager.

We are delighted to announce that Madelene Eleby-Branford (Madde),  who some of you may know from the baby room, has agreed to be our new manager from 24 August and Rachel, who has been our acting manager during this prolonged period, has agreed to accept the role of deputy manager.

Madde has been a part of the nursery on a permanent basis since January of this year, having helped us out as bank staff prior to that. She brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles at both Busy Bees in Sevenoaks and Tiggers in Dunton Green.  She has two grown up children and enjoys, amongst other things, cooking, travelling and spending time with family.

As you all no doubt know, Rachel, who has been our acting manager during this prolonged period, has done a wonderful job and we cannot express how grateful we are for all her efforts over the past 5 months.  We are so pleased that she has agreed to take on the mantle of deputy manager and will be working closely with Madde going forward.

I am sure you would like to join with the trustees in wishing our new management team, including the deputy supervisors and James all the best going forward, and give them our full support. It will be exciting to see how Madde and her team take the Nursery forward while building on the caring and child-centric ethos we know and love. Madde is passionate about continuing to involve parents and to develop our staff, along with introducing the new EYFS themes recommended by OFSTED.

As usual if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the Trustees on trustees@sdn.org.uk

Yours sincerely,

Susan Dreksler, Chairman of Trustees, Sevenoaks Day Nursery
