Apologies again for the 2 day closure, but it was worth it!

After two days of sorting, cleaning, moving, hefting, fixing, washing, head scratching, trips to the dump, stacking, dragging, pushing, laughing, crying, sweating, prepping, hoovering, dusting, sticking, hanging, tea drinking, sweeping, wiping, lifting, dropping, breaking and repairing we are pleased to announce that the new nursery is ready.

Thank you
A big thank you to all those parents, trustees and committee members who found the time to pop along and help.  And a big thank you to our wonderful staff, their husbands, wives, mums, dads and step dads, uncles and aunts; none of us like change, but they put aside any misgivings and got stuck in with great energy and humour.
And a thank you too to all those parents who no longer have children in the Nursery, but who helped raise the funds for the benefit of today’s children and future generations.  I’m sure there will be more profuse and fulsome thankyous at the official opening (details to come).

What to expect from Monday
Well, there are some practical things to consider when coming to the new nursery for the first time (and second or third if you’re a slow learner like me!).  The important things are detailed in a previous email which is also now in a news post on this website.
The other big thing to remember is that this building is new to all of us and it will take a few weeks to settle back into the Sevenoaks Day Nursery rhythm of life; there will be new resources, fixtures and fittings to buy when we’ve identified exactly what is needed.  We may need to alter the way we’ve traditionally done things to take advantage of the more usable space and there will inevitably be some snagging.  So please bear with us as we find our way over the coming weeks.

Enjoy!
The new nursery was designed and built to provide a much more comfortable, secure and challenging physical environment for children but it won’t change our commitment to providing a loving, homely and compassionate emotional environment.  Enjoy!
